Okay, now I don't know what I am!

        Interesting (if frighteningly futile) little thing going on over at Ed’s place between him and Gordon “I ain’t in the Navy anymore, so I’m not a chaplain and I’m an ass for continuing to use it” Klingenschmitt.
        Stupid argument. Ed write a response on a law listserv about teaching religion and GK responded with the normal, shit-for-brains religious noise (usually not reading the actual argument, quotes only you can see and throwing enough straw men around in hopes that the argument you started will actually be forgotten).

        Its not the actual argument that I care about, but something that Ed noted: Ed’s not an atheist but a deist.
        Now, I have to figure out what a deist really is and if I might be one or not (heck, I thought I was a nihilist for a while a few years back).

        Well, I’ll spend some time on this and report back.

What I can do without...

        So, last week I almost lost my electricity (mysterious $900 that the energy company sort of wanted) so I couldn’t pay my Cable bill (I’m a couple months behind and couldn’t pay them and the power co, so I went with power) and I’ve been without Cable since Monday.

        You know what? Its actually not that bad.

        I’ve got more time to read and I’m actually starting to watch some DVD’s that I bought way back (I’ve got about a dozen to watch yet).

        I’m thinking that I might drop Cable TV and just keep the high-speed (now not having that really hurts).

        I wonder if I could get rid of my car?

My middle name is Robert

        I’m thinking about changing it to Hussein. I mean, my name means ‘Bright Hill, which doesn’t mean anything to me. Now, Hussein on the other hand can mean ‘to be good’ or ‘to be handsome or beautiful’.

        How cool is that?!?

        Maybe I’ll just change my middle name to ‘Good Handsome’, but I don’t think anyone would get that joke (nor would it get the response I want).
